We tried out a new park last Friday during our weekly play date. Settler's Park is a really cool park equipped with rubber flooring, climbing rocks, musical chimes, and various play sets. Of course, all Vita does is stare at other kids or eat. Here's the evidence:
Vita climbed up the picnic table by herself--only to find what food could be found in that bag (which is not ours).
We are currently laying sod, which can be quite the challenge when Vita is outside with us. So over the weekend we bought Vita a gardening set at TJMaxx. She loves playing in the dirt, and she likes to help Daddy move stone. When we were in the beginning phase of this project, we moved a lot of stone. Vita helped by putting stones in the wheelbarrow...one at a time. We're hoping the new gardening set will amuse her for at least five minutes!
This is our bedtime routine: read a book, say goodnight to the dogs ("say Goodnight, Deimos...Goodnight Deimos" etc..--all said by me, of course), group hug, say goodnight to the family pictures, kiss kiss, yum, yum...rub the ol' back, turn on the tunes. So last night when the dog goodnights came along, I said, "Say goodnight, Grace." And what do you know, little miss V. said, "Goodnight, Grace." I kid you not! Wow. I was so glad Randy was there to witness. I could not believe it!
Today's playdate consisted of Zoo Boise. Really, the girls look enthused, no? Pictured above are Lily and Sean (Kori and Pat's kids). We are in the penguin room, but we didn't get to see many because they are molting right now.
Tonight Mommy made pizza and Vita wanted to be part of the action. Dad was very hungry, so V thought she would feed him. As you can tell, she slipped some food into her own mouth. Sneaky little devil!
Last night we went out to eat at Papa Joe's and somebody gave Vita chocolate gelato for dessert. After numerous attempts at removing the stain (cream, hydrogen peroxide...) the pants are destined to live on in the memory of the event...Vita's first gelato.
Today Vita and I met Anna and Noble at The Little Gym and snacked at Moxie Java. During our free trial class, the kids did front rolls, hung on bars, and walked on the high beam. They really worked up an appetite. There was too much excitement to take a picture there, so with a little downtime they posed here.
Vita supervises the action in her playhouse, dubbed "The Playground." We bought a ramp that is attached next to the slide and she climbs up all by herself. She slides down and giggles all the way. Grace (for some reason) likes to jump on the slide and catch Vita as she slides down.
