Daddy and V

We ate out last night. We didn't feel like working in the house anymore after preparing for the party. Vita enjoyed sitting in the booth because of the fun mirror. You'll notice that she still has some paint on her cheek. Other than looking at herself, she enjoyed a straw, flirting with the ladies next to us, and the fruit leather I brought with which to bribe her.

The Snackstress

This little stinker loves to eat. She grabbed these chips from the table and proceeded to run away with them and munch on them. She was so fervent in her mission you can see the tear down the middle of the chips. She did something similar to this Saturday night, too. That time she grabbed a box of snack cookies from the Lazy Susan, walked over to her music table (which is disguised as a snack table no thanks to me!!) and sat there and waited for me to put some cookies in the little compartment. She was so confident in her mission she didn't even say anything; she just strolled on over to the table. I won't even get in to how she is a human Deimos when she is around others with food. She's got the stare down! I guess she has a Master to learn from.

Perfect Pumpkin Painting

We did not carve any pumpkins at our party, and Vita was too busy having fun to sit down and paint, so we opted to get our pumpkins ready yesterday. Vita actually looks like an artist in the first picture! I couldn't resist taking a video of her walking after she was done painting.

Pumpkin Carving 101

We had our second annual pumpkin carving party on Saturday, and people actually carved this year. Last year we merely had some painting action. We started earlier this year so people could carve outside and see what they were doing. It was beautiful outside! Randy said it was about 60 or so. I had on just a long sleeve shirt all night (My annual Halloween gear: my Trick and Treat shirt) and it was perfect. Just before it got dark we had a fire started and people lit up their pumpkins. Vita had an excellent time. Except for the first half hour of the party when she wanted Daddy to hold her, she adventured all on her own. She played with all of the kids and checked out all of the partygoers. I had to remind myself she needed a sweater and food as the night wore on because she wasn't coming to me at all. She had too much fun running around.

At Least She's Not Eating It (This Time, Anway!)

Vita and Lily

On Friday I watched Sean and Lily while Kori was at an interview. The girls actually had a good time together. Lily has been known to cry just if Vita looks at her. Okay, Vita has also been known to torment her. Odd, she doesn't bully anyone else. They enjoyed the ramp and slide, and they also had fun peeking out the playhouse windows as I moved from window to window sneaking up on them. They just giggled and giggled!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch with Kori (Sean and Lily), Eileen (Giovanni and Kathleen) and Laura (Sam). Cabalo's is an organic farm and orchard in Kuna. We went on a hay ride to the patch and picked our own pumpkins. After the ride, some of us picked apples and the others watched the turkeys. I also picked up some gourds and decorative corn to create a festive scene for our pumpkin carving party this weekend. It was cold and windy, but the kids had a great time.

Greta Adair Hall

Nora had her baby Sunday night, October 19 at 11:43 PM. She is 9lbs 2oz and 21 3/4in long. This is our visit at the hospital. We captured a shot of Vita peering in on Greta.
And no, that is not me. I didn't get to hold the baby! :(

My Girl Likes to Potty All the Time

Sunday we put a potty on the toilet for Vita. She loved it as you can tell from her big grin. Once we tried it she kept on wanting to get on it over and over again. She has actually peed twice on the potty. We thought it was time to let her have some of her own potty time because she has been wanting to flush the toilet, put things in the toilet, and once she even wanted to wipe Mommy's butt.

Taco Night

Saturday night we went to Dave and Nora's for tacos. Nora must have had enough hot sauce because she started laboring the following morning! Dick and Linda (her parents) came to help them out and Vita loved playing with the toys that they brought here from Michigan

I See Modeling in Her Future

This is an outfit I bought at a community consignment event. I haven't bought many clothes, but I could not pass up this one!

Party Time (Like She Never Gets to Party!!)

Last night we went to a Fall Harvest Party. I made vegetarian Jamaican Chili. There was a lot of great food and A LOT of kids. A few times Vita ventured into the play room, but mostly she stayed close to her Daddy. This is one of the few times he smiled (and she wasn't screaming or crying). You'll notice that she has her pajamas on and we are about to leave. Parties aren't always so much fun with a screamin' babe.

New Blocks

The family attempted to "yard sale" today, and the only thing we could find for Vita were some new blocks. It was a pretty lame search for new toys today. I guess everybody thought it was too cold to have a sale. These new blocks should be fun, though. We also moved all of Vita's toys into her bedroom. We'll see how long that lasts!

Happy Anniversary

These are the flowers that Randy bought me for our anniversary. Beautiful!!!

It's Getting Cold

I can't believe how cold it is right now. To think three years ago we had an outdoor wedding and reception, and it was absolutely beautiful. On one of our recent evening walks, we geared up Vita with a warm hoody and Baby Uggs (Uggs, seriously). The Uggs were a hand-me-down and won't fit past this month, so it's kinda cool that there was some weather in which Vita could wear them.

And yes, that is snow on the ground. Not enought to make snow angels, so we just acted like angels (we're so sweet!) Vita is not in this picture because we were hot tubbin' it in the wee hours (okay, at 9 PM!). We have such an active night life!

See Spot Walk

It's that time of year again. Here is the one picture of See Spot Walk my camera let me take before it died. It must be all that blogging I'm doing! Brian and Andi met up with us to walk our dogs (their fourth!!! is hiding behind the St. Bernard) at the annual fundraiser for the Humane Society. Vita donned her "My Siblings" tee shirt for the second year in a row. It's a tee shirt made by Brian that features Deimos and Grace. I told her she'll wear the shirt annually. She didn't think that was too funny.

No, This is Not a Beer Fest!

Last Thursday was First Thursday in downtown Boise. Vita and I met up with Jamie and we hit some of the stores. The boys had dinner with us at Donnie Mac's, which just happened to have a Beer Fest in the parking lot. Lance, Dan's band mate, was in charge of Sockeye Brewery, so of course we had to test out his goods. Vita thought the Lager was much better than the Oktoberfest! Just kidding! She thought the frozen custard was the best! (But, boy, wouldn't that make a good float...)

Ssshhhh!!

Once a week Vita and I attend the toddler story time. This time she and Noble terrorized the whole library.

Foley's Orchard

Last Saturday we went to Brian and Andy's, who currently live on an orchard maintained by Zamzow's, a local home and garden store. Zamzow's treats their fruit with organic fertilizer to test out its efficacy, but they don't harvest. So the Foley's had a party to dump the fruit. Vita especially loved the squishy, rotten apples because she could stick her fingers in it easily.
