Pumpkin Carving 101

We had our second annual pumpkin carving party on Saturday, and people actually carved this year. Last year we merely had some painting action. We started earlier this year so people could carve outside and see what they were doing. It was beautiful outside! Randy said it was about 60 or so. I had on just a long sleeve shirt all night (My annual Halloween gear: my Trick and Treat shirt) and it was perfect. Just before it got dark we had a fire started and people lit up their pumpkins. Vita had an excellent time. Except for the first half hour of the party when she wanted Daddy to hold her, she adventured all on her own. She played with all of the kids and checked out all of the partygoers. I had to remind myself she needed a sweater and food as the night wore on because she wasn't coming to me at all. She had too much fun running around.

That's some great pumpkins on the fireplace. Is that a person, I don't know??? Vita appears to be standing by Randy's leg in the first shot; or is she simply engrossed the ongoing conversation. Glad to hear it was perfect weather. We've had a couple of days of that, too.

It looks as if you have quite the party place with all the hard work you have put into the backyard! Oh what fun! Can't wait for our visit!!!!!!
