Doctor, Doctor...Give Me Some News...

Last week Vita had two medical appointments (the poor, little bugger...): her annual kidney check-up and 18 month appointment. The kidney check-up was an ultrasound, and Vita was miserable during almost all of it. She was very scared, and I had to hold her down so they could get the pictures they needed. The guy who started off doing it asked another person to do it midway through. A young mother came in and she was much better at the process. Vita was a little more receptive with her. After the ultrasound, we ate lunch at the hospital, and she definitely thought that was fun. Or was it all the attention she was getting from everyone around her? We will meet with the urologist in a couple of weeks to go over the results, but I'm not anticipating any issues. Unfortunately we have a new pediatrician because our old one moved away (back to Michigan), but the new doctor seems pretty cool. Vita had her 18 month check-up, and of course, had to get shots. So she wasn't too happy, yet again. The doctor said Vita looks great, and that this was one of the better 18 month visits she has endured (we talked about how every appointment as she gets older is more difficult, and she agreed that the 18 month age is the trickiest!). Vita's stats are 24 lbs. at 45% and 32 inches at 55%. Hopefully we won't have to go the doctor's office much this winter because she has tubes now. I, myself, had enough of doctors last week!

THanks for the report. I'm not acquainted with the percentile chart; but it seems like she is in a good spot on the chart.

I'm sorry that Vita was troubled about her doctor visits; but as you say, hopefully, she won't have to make many visits this winter. At any rate, she does have a repreive from well checks for awhile.

We'll wait to her about her urology check from the doctor. I remember liking her.
