My 35th

I Can't Believe She's Still in the Duck

Depot Day

The Boise Depot had an open house on Sunday.

There really wasn't much of interest for a toddler, but it was neat to go inside because we hadn't been there before.

Vita Lovin' Her Daddy

Boise's Earth Day celebration was on Saturday at the botanical gardens. We checked out the vendors and listened to the music.

FunTime at the Toy Store

On Saturday we had to go the spa place and next door is a toy store. They had crafts and a face painter that day so Vita joined in on the fun.

Vita and Noble having too much fun.

Three Months to Go

Our Fantastic Easter Day

We had an eventful Easter. The weather was great, and except for no nap from Vita, the day went quite smoothly. Below is the day in order captured in pictures. We were quite busy; we even went out for ice cream to wrap up the evening.

We started our Easter day with an early morning brunch at a local Hawaiian cafe. We had one of those rare moments when Vita let us eat. It really was the abundant syrup that Randy put on her plate to occupy her.

After brunch we went to the MK Nature Center and took a short walk. It was a beautiful day and a great place to enjoy family time.

Here is Vita checking out her easter basket. She got a new toothbrush, golf set, bunny, and Peeps.

Vita dyed her own eggs this year. She had a blast. She really liked dropping the eggs in the dye. She tried to pick up the eggs with the provided tool, but mostly would smash the eggs farther into the cup.

LET ME COLOR THESE EGGS!

Vita had a great time hunting for eggs in the backyard. We hid both plastic and real eggs. Afterwards, we spread out a blanket and looked at what she had found. She would shake an egg and hand it to me to help her open it. When she grabbed a real egg and shook it, she would just drop it in the basket. She knew the drill.

Moroccan Dinner

Dinner club was at our house on Saturday night. The theme was Moroccan--a lot of sweetness in most of the recipes. The drink was a hibiscus, rose tea with a simple syrup and vodka mixture. The appetizer was a yummy combination of sweet and savory--a chicken and spice mixture enveloped in a filo dough crust with powdered sugar topping. The side was a beautiful and tasty couscous. The main dish was a chicken dish with blanched almonds, chick peas, and onions. I also made bread with three different seeds in it--it's a holiday bread. Three different desserts graced our plates. The triangular goodies are baklava-like almond and fig treats, and the orange is in a sweet glaze with mint on top. Everything tasted amazing!!

Prelude to Easter

Last Friday's play group was at the Sullivan's and we had an egg hunt. Here is a pic of most of the kids waiting to go outside to find more eggs.

Vita Vacuums

We haven't been taking many videos of Vita recently. It gets harder when they move around so much! This video is of Vita cleaning the floor with her new vacuum we got at a yard sale. Last weekend we also bought her a broom. We bought a full size one and Randy cut it down for her. Now we just need to get a duster and mop! Hopefully she will continue this cleaning trend and take after her Daddy and not Mommy when it comes to keeping things clean.

Like, Oh my gosh! I'm, like, so cute!

Pancakes for Breakfast

Need I say more?

Dinner Fun

Thursday we went downtown for First Thursday. We met up with Dan and Jamie for dinner. It was a cold and rainy night so we didn't last long, but it was nice to get out.

Our New Tent

Randy thought we needed a new tent. It's

a 6 person--but this summer we'll have a six-member household.

A Reef Romp

Last weekend we went on a tour of residential reef tanks. I think it was for the Boise Reef Society. The tank pictured here is the largest one we visited--almost 300 gallons. Obviously I'm a little shady on details, but it's my story! This tank is relatively new, so there isn't much color to it, but we visited one of the smaller ones listed and it was so beautiful. The whole tank was splash after splash of color.

Bath Time with Grammie

Vita needed a daytime bath, which suited her just fine!

It's Vegas, Baby!

Vita and I met my parents in Vegas for a weekend. We took V to Circus Circus and caught the tail end of an act. We played a game and Vita won a stuffed bear. Vita really enjoyed the Bellagio Gardens and the birds at the Flamingo. We also went to see a lion at MGM, but as usual, Vita was more interested in the people around her. My mom and I were able to sneak away and watch Kris Angell, an illusionist. That was pretty cool. The weather wasn't great, but Vita and I were able to wear sandals and sunglasses, as you can see in the hip pic of V carrying her goods.
